Woman’s jaw broken in violent robbery
Two thugs fractured a Brooklyn woman’s face during a violent robbery in the lobby of her Greenpoint building, cops said.
The victim, 63, was returning to her Morgan Avenue home about 10:30 pm Thursday when a man followed her inside and beat her in the face and head, police said.
A second man acted as a lookout.
The crooks snagged the helpless woman’s purse, which had her cell phone and $40, police said. She was taken to Woodhull Hospital with a fractured eye socket and jaw. No arrests have been made.
“Two guys just ran up and grabbed her. She said she saw them on the street as she was coming home but didn’t think anything of it,” a relative told The Post.
“They broke her jaw. It took her 10 minutes to get inside and get one of us,” he added. “It’s normally a safe area. But there’s been some incidents, some robberies, and you never hear about it when these things happen. They should really make people aware.”
